The Lady Knights started off the Rivertown Classic Tournament by facing Switzerland County.  The final score was 43-25, Lady Knights on top.  Kyrstin Bond had 19 of those points.  Junior, Alyssa McClanahan came close behind with 12 points.  Working together during the game, Alyssa and Kyrstin attained a fast break and finished with a nice layup.  Brooke Huddleston was fouled while she shot a layup, sending her to the free throw line.  She hit her free throw with ease, for the third time that night, she was 100% at the line.  Later in the game, Brooke stopped Switz’s #30 with a solid block.  Freshman, Kate Townsend had the second block of the night silencing #24.  Townsend had a great defensive night, with 4 rebounds, 2 deflections, and 4 steals.  Sophomore, Bry Lagreca, ended the night being 2 for 2 on her free throws.  Junior, Kate Brown, set a solid screen, and got  Kyrstin Bond wide open for a jumper at the elbow.  Overall the Lady Knights had a great defensive night and moved on to play the Lady Tigers in their next game.

The Lady Knights started off the championship game strong, with Senior Britney Beil getting a defensive rebound.  Later on, Alyssa played great defense, and caused Juliana Kemper to travel.  McClanahan also made a nice pass to Bry Lagreca, who made the shot, giving Alyssa 4 assists for the night.  Britney, got a steal at half court, giving us another offensive possession.  Brooke Huddleston got fouled on a shot, giving her 2 free throws, she hit both.  Later in the game, Bond and Townsend conducted a successful ‘give and go’, resulting in a made basket by Bond.  Brooke stole the ball from Kemper, giving us another possession.  Huddleston also got an offensive rebound, and went back up with it, made it, which gave her 14 total points for the night.  The Knights all fought hard but sadly lost, 52-42.  

 

Lawrenceburg beat Rising Sun and South Dearborn and won the Rivertown Tournament 2018.
