On Wednesday, September 21st from 5:00 until 7:00, the cheerleaders of South Dearborn High School held a cheer camp at the high school for kindergarten through 6th grade kids from the South Dearborn school district. The little cheerleaders learned cheers and a dance which they performed Friday, September 23rd during the halftime of the varsity football game. Christian Cowan, Senior Captain of the SDHS cheerleading squad, assisted with the camp. She noted that, “The clinic is a good way to bring in future cheerleaders, and it is also a big fundraiser for us.” To her, the best part of the experience is a teaching the children stunts.

The kids each paid $20 for the camp, which included a t-shirt and admission to the game. The young cheerleaders then participated in a cheer during halftime at the football game on September 23rd. It was great fun for the kids and a wonderful way to encourage Knight spirit!
